Extenso Presentation Submission Guidelines


The extenso presentations (both Romanian and English) written according to the instructions below, will be sent by e-mail to rsn@rsncongress.ro until 15 of July 2024.

A notification regarding the status of the paper in extenso will be sent by e-mail until 20 of August 2024

All extenso presentations will be verified by the RSN CONGRESS Scientific Committee before being published.

The extenso presentations will be published in the 6th edition of the “News in Modern Neurosciences” Volume which contains the Extenso Presentations of  RSN CONGRESS 2024 (volume with ISBN).

General Guidelines

  • Extenso presentations must be submitted both in Romanian and English

  • The content of the extenso presentations will not exceed:

  • original articles;

  • 6 pages / 2.500 words;

  • review and update articles;

  • 8 pages / 3.500 words;

  • case presentation type articles;

  • 4 pages / 1.700 words – clinical and experimental notes

  • 3 pages / 1.300 words – reviews, letter articles to the publisher, information on scientific meetings

  • We recommend you to use word processing software (for example, Word) to edit the extenso presentation.

  • We recommend using Times New Roman font, size 12, Bold, without paragraph alignment or other indentations; will not be formatted, writing with diacritics.

  • Works in extenso may contain tables, images, graphs or other types of figures.

  • There is no limit to the number of extenso presentations that you may submit.

  • Registration is not mandatory in the submission process. However, all autors or a designated representative must be registered and participate to the RSN CONGRESS 2024 by the 15 of July 2024, otherwise the extenso presentation will not be included in he 4th edition of the “News in Modern Neurosciences” Volume

  • The extenso presentations can be edited until the deadline for submission. After that date, no changes regarding the content or the authors will be allowed. Edits may include changing the title, adding or deleting authors or changing the extenso presentation body. Once the review process begins, no changes are allowed; no exceptions

  • Please note that any typographical or spelling errors, improperly formatted titles, etc. will NOT be edited by the organizing committee. It is the responsibility of the submitter to review and verify all work submitted.

Information required to complete a submission

  • Main Author — Individual who is submitting the extenso presentation. All correspondence will be done with the main author.

  • Title (no more than 30 words)

  • Keywords (up to five)

  • List Authors – Up to 5 list authors can be included. Their full names with credentials, city and state or country must be included.

  • Disclosure of conflict of interest — This is required for the presenting author.

The submitting author should choose one of the topics below

  • Neuro-oncology 

  • Vascular neurosurgery 

  • Spinal neurosurgery 

  • Functional neurosurgery

  • Pediatric neurosurgery 

  • Neuro-radiology 

  • Neuro-robotics

  • Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS)

  • Neuro-ophthalmology

Deadlines and important dates

  • Extenso Submission Open – 01.03.2024

  • Extenso Submission Deadline – 15.07.2024

  • Extenso Notification – 20.07.2024

  • Deadline for Presenting Author to Complete Registration – 25.07.2024. 

The Main Authors for extenso presentation must be registered by this date. 

Format guidelines for the presentations

  • Microsoft Word is the recommended writing program.

  • Figures and tables should be inserted balanced in the text.

  • Each figure or table must be accompanied by a title and a caption.

  • The figures, numbered with Arabic numerals, will be 6.5 cm wide (to fit on one column) or 13.5 cm (to fit on both columns) and will be mentioned in the text in brackets with straight characters (fig.1).

  • Figures must meet the following conditions:

  1. color photos scanned at a resolution of at least 300 dpi and subsequently processed on the computer, original file (* .TIFF, * .JPG);

  2. color images (drawings, graphics) made on the computer (in black and white with contrast), with readable text, mentioned in the text, original file (* .XLS, * .ai);

  3. image processing must be kept to a minimum, only scaling and / or possibly changes in contrast and brightness being accepted;

  4. the addition of indicators / markings that allow the identification of certain points of interest is allowed;
    they will be accompanied by an appropriate legend;

  5. modifications of the images that may alter their meaning are not accepted.

  • Works in extenso should be saved as “word document” or “pdf”.

  • We recommend using the Times New Roman 12 font, without paragraph alignment or other indentations; will not be formatted.

  • The works in extenso will be written with diacritics.
